PriceLens ("we", "app") is committed to protecting your personal data and privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data is collected when you use our app, how it is processed, and what rights you have. By downloading or using the app, you agree to this policy.
1. Data We Collect
When you sign in with Google or Apple, only your name, email address, and profile picture URL are processed for authentication purposes. This information is securely received through Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple, not directly from you.
Scans performed via barcode, photo, or text search, and products added to favorites, are stored on our servers and linked to your account. This data is used solely to provide you with a personalised experience.
To ensure the app functions correctly and to detect errors, we may collect device model, OS version, app version, and anonymous crash reports. This data does not identify you individually.
The app does not access your precise location. Your country is automatically determined solely from your device's system language and region settings (e.g. "en_US"), and price searches are performed accordingly.
Camera permission is required to use the barcode scanning and photo search features. Images captured from the camera are used only for instant processing; they are not saved to your device, stored, or shared.
An anonymous device token generated by Firebase Cloud Messaging is stored on our servers to enable price alerts and notifications. This token is not directly linked to your personal identity.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect only for the following purposes:
- Syncing your scan history and favourites across devices
- Providing accurate prices and store information based on your country
- Sending you a notification when your target price is reached
- Alerting you when a price drops on a favourite product
- Sending weekly summary notifications (if you opt in)
- Detecting in-app errors and improving performance
- Verifying and managing your PRO subscription status
Your data is never used for advertising targeting, profiling, or third-party marketing, and is never sold.
3. Third-Party Services
The app uses the following third-party services. Each is subject to its own privacy policy:
- Firebase Authentication (Google LLC) — Identity verification. Policy: firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google LLC) — Push notification delivery. Policy: firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- RevenueCat, Inc. — Subscription and in-app purchase management. Policy: revenuecat.com/privacy
- Google Sign-In (Google LLC) — Social login option. Policy: policies.google.com/privacy
- Sign in with Apple (Apple Inc.) — Social login option. Policy: apple.com/legal/privacy
These services may process certain technical data under their own privacy policies, solely to fulfil their respective functions.
4. Data Retention & Deletion
Scan history, favourites, and price alerts are retained as long as your account is active. Price cache data is automatically deleted after 2–24 hours depending on the product category. Product information is cached for a maximum of 30 days.
You can permanently delete all your personal data via Settings → Delete Account inside the app. This action is irreversible; your scan history, favourites, alerts, and account information will be completely removed from our servers.
PRO members can download their scan data in CSV format via Settings → Export History.
5. Data Security
We apply the following technical and organisational measures to protect your data:
- All data transmission between the app and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS
- Sensitive data in the database is protected with industry-standard algorithms
- Access to app APIs is restricted by secure token authentication
- Server infrastructure receives regular security updates
- Employee access is restricted on a least-privilege basis
However, no data transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If you suspect a security breach, please notify us immediately at destek@finestfor.com.
6. Children's Privacy
PriceLens is not directed at children under the age of 13. You must be at least 13 years old to use the app. In certain countries, this age limit may be raised to 16 under local legislation.
If we become aware that we have collected data from a user under 13, that data will be deleted immediately. If you are a parent or guardian and become aware of such a situation, please contact us at destek@finestfor.com.
7. Your Rights
Under GDPR and other applicable data protection regulations, you have the following rights:
- Right of Access: You may request access to the data we hold about you.
- Right to Rectification: You may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to Erasure: You may request deletion of your personal data (via in-app account deletion or by email).
- Right to Object: You may object to certain data processing activities.
- Right to Portability: You may request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Right to Complain: You may lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority.
To exercise your rights, send an email to destek@finestfor.com. Requests are responded to within 30 days at the latest.
8. Cookies & Tracking
Our mobile app does not use browser cookies. Only anonymous, aggregated technical data is processed to measure app performance. This data is not associated with individual users.
Your notification preferences are stored in local device storage (SharedPreferences) and are not transmitted to our servers.
9. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed in the countries where our servers are located. Third-party services such as Firebase and RevenueCat may process your data in different countries in accordance with their own infrastructure.
For transfers outside the EU/EEA, the standard contractual clauses required by GDPR or equivalent safeguards apply.
10. Policy Updates
We may update this policy from time to time. For significant changes, an in-app notification will be shown and the "Last updated" date on this page will be revised.
Your continued use of the app after a policy change constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
